2017 Goals

  • 3 minute read
2017 Resolutions and Announcements for 88 Cups of Tea
I get so pumped up about New Year resolutions. There really is no difference when it comes to setting goals in the new year or smack dab in the middle of the summer except for a shift in perspective. If the idea of starting with a blank slate energizes most people to re-assess and evaluate their achievements and goals, then heck yes, let’s ring in the new year more often! For me, I feed off of excitement and energy, and the notion of committing to something with a larger group. It’s a reminder to celebrate our wins, both big and small, and take the time we need to review our progress and re-define our goals.

To hold myself accountable throughout the year, I list all of my goals and sort them into three categories: Personal, Relationships, and Career. For each of those categories, I focus on specific words to keep me on track. Curious about my personal and relationship goals? Read about them in detail in our Facebook Group. Below are my career goals (podcasting goals)!

RESOLUTIONS-88cupsoftea

CAREER GOALS:

Key Word: Growth

For 88 Cups of Tea, I set aside time to look through the highs and lows of 2016 and tracked the podcast’s progress in the following 3 sections:
  • How am I doing in terms of providing inspiration and motivation for our community of listeners?
  • How am I feeling creatively in regards to authenticity and fulfillment?
  • How is our podcast doing financially? What can I do to guide the podcast towards a financial milestone where I can hire a team to grow the podcast in ways that can further provide value, inspiration, and motivation?

The main goals for the podcast this year are:

  1. To provide even more inspiration and motivation for our community of listeners, we will:
    • Continue producing quality podcast episodes with incredible guests.
    • Continue nurturing a tight-knit community in our new Facebook Group.
    • Create an epic resource page on our website so it becomes a powerful hub you can rely on for even more inspiration to help you along your storytelling journey.
      • Do you have any specific topics or suggestions of topics you’d like to see us cover and make available on our website? Please let us know by clicking here!
    • Unveiling our new campaign for book lovers!
  2. To make sure I stay aligned with my authentic way of creative storytelling, I will:
    • Launch Special Edition episodes that highlight the core of what it means to be human and the depth of human emotions. This podcast has changed and shaped me by seeing the impact it has on our community of listeners. It’s inspiring to see that what we’ve created continues to matter. The magic of storytelling is real and precious. No matter how busy life gets we can’t let it disappear.
    • Weave in more questions in upcoming new interviews that relate to ‘action’ and ‘change’.
  3. Make the podcast financially stand on its own so I can implement forward movement.
    • Take listeners’ suggestions into account and provide ways to work with me.
    • Launch a shop for proud listeners to rock our swag!
    • Create a page for listeners to donate to our show!

With all goals…

It’s important to keep in mind how gratitude and action can move you forward and help you intentionally stay on track. I am actively more mindful in waking up each day and ending each night with a more grateful awareness of the positive things in my life, and reflecting on how I can improve and create positive change in my own life and those around me.

What are your 2017 resolutions and goals? I encourage you to share as much as you’d like over in our Facebook group!
